We’ve decided that one conference this autumn is definitely not enough for CMS enthusiasts. So before we meet in November in Gdynia, we invite you to Vilnius, where for the first time we’re organizing CMS Conf Local, a one-day, local edition of our conference.

It will be shorter, more intimate and local, but the topics remain familiar. CMS Conf Local is a new series of one-day meetups through which we want to reach CMS communities in various European cities. Vilnius is the first stop.

One Day, Plenty of Topics

CMS Conf Local in Vilnius will focus on what’s currently happening in and around the web. Among other things, we’ll talk about how AI is changing web products, and the work of agencies and the people who design and build those products.

However, we don’t want to make Local a shortened version of the November conference. This format has its own character: one day, a smaller group, and more room to get to know the local community, exchange experiences, and have the conversations that often only start once a speaker has left the stage.

Where and When Are We Meeting?

There’s one more detail that fits our plan very well: October 24 falls on a Saturday. So really, nothing stands in the way of turning CMS Conf Local into the start of an autumn weekend in Vilnius.

Why CMS Conf Local: Vilnius?

Mainly because from the very beginning, CMS Conf was never meant to be confined to a single city or a single community. The main event in Gdynia is meant to bring together people working with different CMSs, technologies, and web-building models, and Local lets us take that idea closer to where local communities actually operate. At the same time, our choice of the first city also worked out well for those who like to see more than just a hotel and a conference hall after the event.

Vilnius is compact, and its historic center can easily be explored on foot. Autumn suits it especially well — the city’s official tourism website points to September and October as a period of quieter streets, autumn colors, and very good conditions for sightseeing.

A Conference and a Spontaneous Getaway in One

So you can approach this very practically: arrive on Friday, spend Saturday with us at CMS Conf Local, and leave Sunday for Vilnius itself.

The Old Town, cafés, an autumn walk, a good meal, and a few hours without looking at a screen after a full day of talking about technology sound like a pretty reasonable plan. All the more so because the most important spots in the historic center are relatively close to one another, so even one extra day is enough to really feel the city, instead of just squeezing in a quick walk before leaving.

So you can treat Vilnius as a warm-up before Gdynia, your first encounter with CMS Conf, or simply a very good excuse to fit in one more conference and one more city break this autumn.
